Build Your Circle & Share a Little More

Some of the best things about the lifestyle aren’t just the parties or the adventures. They’re the friendships you make along the way.

Whether you’ve clicked with another couple, met someone interesting at an event, or simply found people you enjoy chatting with, the Friends feature is a lovely way to keep those connections going.

And there’s another little bonus: once someone is on your Friends list, they get to see any photos you’ve reserved for Friends Only.

Let me show you how it works!

Finding Your Friends

You’ll find Friends under the People link in the navigation menu at the top of the page when you’re logged in.

This is your little friendship headquarters, where you can see:

  • Your Friends – Everyone you’ve accepted or who has accepted you as a friend.
  • Requests Sent – Friend requests you’ve sent to other members that are still awaiting a response.
  • Requests Received – People who’ve asked to be your friend and are waiting for you to decide.

It’s an easy way to keep track of the people you’re connecting with and manage your growing circle of friends.

Adding Someone as a Friend

Spotted a couple, solo or polycule you’d like to get to know a little better?

My advice is to start with a conversation.

Visit their profile, have a look around, and if they catch your interest, drop them a message. If you get along and things are going well, you can send them a friend request using the Add Friend button on their profile.

A little lifestyle etiquette, though: plenty of people prefer to befriend someone they’ve actually met, or at least had a decent conversation with first. Don’t take it personally – it’s just how some people like to manage their friendships.

The Friend Request button is particularly handy after meeting someone at a party. Perhaps you had a lovely chat, exchanged a few smiles and promised to catch up again.

A week later, you spot them on Spice Me Up Lucy. Send them a friend request, perhaps with a quick message reminding them where you met. Not everyone will immediately recognise your profile picture!

Discovering Mutual Friends

Now, here’s something I rather like about the Friends feature.

You can choose whether your Friends list is visible to other members or keep it private. The choice is entirely yours.

Personally, I’d encourage you to leave it visible if you’re comfortable doing so.

Discovering that you have mutual friends can be a wonderful conversation starter. You might find that you know some of the same couples, have attended the same parties or have been part of the same social circles without ever crossing paths.

It can even create opportunities to organise a get-together with several people at once.

And let’s face it, darling, this is a lifestyle where people quite enjoy getting a few more together at once! 😉

Of course, it’s your choice. If you’d rather keep your friendships to yourself, you can make your Friends list private.

Friends Only Photos – Sharing a Little More

Here’s where having friends on the site becomes particularly useful.

When you upload photos to your profile, you have the option of reserving some of them for Friends Only.

These photos are only visible to members you’ve accepted as friends.

That means when you accept someone’s friend request, you’re also giving them access to those photos.

So, before accepting a request, have a think about what you’ve made available to your friends. You might be perfectly happy for someone to see your more personal photos, or you might prefer to keep that circle quite small.

And remember, Friends Only doesn’t necessarily mean intimate or identifiable photos. You might simply want to share pictures that show some of your kinks, your tattoos or a little more of your personality with people you know.

The important thing is that you get to decide who sees them.

Not Everyone Has to Be Your Friend

A little reminder: don’t be offended if someone doesn’t accept your friend request.

Some members are quite selective about who they add. They might have very personal or identifiable photos available to their friends and only want people they know well and trust to see them.

Others simply prefer to keep their Friends list for people they’ve met in person.

Neither approach is wrong.

Likewise, don’t feel obliged to accept every request that comes your way. Your profile, your photos and your privacy are yours to manage.

Build your circle at a pace that feels comfortable.

One More Level of Privacy – Just for You

There’s actually another level of photo privacy worth knowing about.

When uploading photos, you can also reserve images for Just You.

These are private photos that only you can see on your own profile.

However, you can choose to share individual private photos with specific people through your private messages.

This is a great way to share something more personal with someone you’ve been chatting to, without making it available to your entire Friends list.

So, between public photos, Friends Only photos and your private Just You collection, you’ve got plenty of control over who gets to see what.

Friendships Make a Community

Spice Me Up Lucy isn’t just about finding people to flirt with or arranging your next party.

It’s about making connections, building friendships and becoming part of a community where people recognise familiar faces, look out for one another and enjoy spending time together.

Some friendships will start with a message. Some will end up in the bedroom, some will expand well outside the bedroom and some will turn into regular catch-ups, shared adventures and friendships that last for years.

And that’s rather lovely, isn’t it?

Ready to Grow Your Circle?

Next time you meet someone you click with, or have a great conversation with someone on the site, why not send them a friend request?

Head to People → Friends to manage your friendships, see who’s waiting for a response and discover who’s already part of your circle.

Just remember to be genuine, respect people’s privacy and don’t rush the friendships.

After all, the best connections are the ones that happen naturally.
