Your Memories, Your Privacy, Your Choice

Let’s face it, darling, sharing photos and videos is a big part of getting to know people in the lifestyle. They let you show a little personality, share a glimpse of your adventures and, when the time is right, perhaps reveal a little more of yourself.

But we also understand that privacy matters. Very much.

That’s why Spice Me Up Lucy gives you control over who sees your photos and videos. Whether you want to share something with the whole community, keep it just for friends, or have a private collection that only you can see, the choice is yours.

And we’ve put some serious thought into how your images are stored, protected and shared.

Let me show you how it all works!

Your Photo & Video Gallery

You’ll find Photos & Videos in the purple link along the top navigation menu.

This is where you can upload and manage your personal collection of photos and videos.

There are a few limits to keep things manageable:

  • Photos: Upload up to 10 at a time, with a maximum of 100 photos per account.
  • Videos: Upload one at a time, with a maximum of 5 videos per account. Each video can be up to 2 minutes long.

Once uploaded, you can manage your collection and decide exactly who gets to see each photo.

Three Levels of Photo Privacy

Every photo you upload is assigned one of three privacy settings. You choose the setting before anyone else can see it.

1. Public – For the Spice Me Up Lucy Community

Public means visible to other eligible, logged-in members of Spice Me Up Lucy.

It does NOT mean publicly available on the internet. Your member photos aren’t sitting in an ordinary public website folder where anyone with a link can open them.

People who have simply registered and verified their email, but haven’t completed their profile, can’t browse member photos.

2. Friends Only – For Your Inner Circle

This is where things get a little more personal.

Friends Only photos are visible to members you’ve accepted as friends.

Perhaps you’re happy to show your face, share identifiable tattoos or reveal a little more about yourselves, but only to people you’ve got to know.

It’s one of the reasons we encourage you to build friendships on the site. You can share more with people you’ve come to trust without making those images available to the entire community.

3. Only You – Your Private Collection

These photos are for your eyes only.

They’re stored in your private collection and aren’t visible to other members browsing your profile, whether they’re a friend or not.

However, there’s a rather handy extra feature: you can choose to share individual private photos with specific people through private messages.

So you can keep a photo completely private on your profile but still share it with someone special when you feel comfortable doing so.

How We Protect Your Photos

Now, this is something we’ve put a lot of thought into.

We don’t simply upload your photos into the same public folders used for ordinary website images.

Instead, member photos are stored separately, under scrambled filenames, in a protected location. They can’t simply be opened by copying an image address into a browser.

Whenever someone tries to view a photo, our website checks whether they’re logged in, have completed their profile and have permission to see that particular image.

In other words, the privacy setting is actively checked every time someone views a photo.

We also automatically strip hidden location information and other identifying metadata from your photos when they’re uploaded. Phone photographs can contain GPS coordinates, device details and other information you probably wouldn’t want to share.

Your uploaded photo is rebuilt on our server, with that hidden information removed, before it becomes available to anyone.

Your privacy isn’t just a setting on a screen. It’s built into the way we handle your images.

What About Videos?

Videos receive their own additional layer of protection.

Unlike photos, videos aren’t stored on our website at all. They are transferred directly from your device to a specialist private video hosting service.

Before they leave your device, location and device information are stripped from them.

When an authorised member presses play, our website issues a short-lived viewing permission specifically for that video. A copied player link won’t provide permanent access, and videos can only be played through Spice Me Up Lucy.

We also prevent direct access to the underlying video files, don’t provide a download button and protect the individual video components.

If you delete a video, it’s deleted from the video hosting service too. The same applies when a member deletes their account.

A Little More Protection Against Copying

We’ve also introduced additional measures to discourage people from casually saving or copying images.

These include blocking common browser actions such as right-click saving, dragging and copying images.

But let’s be realistic for a moment.

No website can guarantee that an image displayed on a screen cannot be captured. Someone could still take a screenshot or photograph their screen using another device.

We’d rather be honest about that than promise something no website can genuinely deliver.

Our approach is to make unauthorised access and casual copying much harder, while giving you meaningful control over who can see your images in the first place.

Your Profile Photos – Making an Effort Matters!

You’ll notice that profile photos are a little different from your personal photo gallery.

Every member needs to upload their profile images, including:

  • A profile cover photo.
  • A main profile avatar.
  • An avatar for each individual in the profile.

These are compulsory when setting up your account, and you can change them whenever you like through Settings → Edit Profile.

Why do we make them compulsory?

Because we want people to make an effort!

We’re building a community of genuine people who are actually interested in connecting with one another. We don’t want hundreds of empty profiles or accounts that look like they’ve been thrown together in thirty seconds.

And don’t worry – we’re not insisting that you show your faces.

In fact, we’d generally recommend keeping your main profile images relatively discreet if you value your privacy. You can still show some personality, give people an idea of who you are and make your profile interesting without making yourselves immediately identifiable.

It’s about being genuine and making an effort, not about revealing everything.

Sharing Photos Around Events

Photos and videos aren’t limited to your personal gallery.

Our Events feature has its own chat and photo-sharing facilities, both before and after a gathering.

If you’re on the Coming list for an event, you can participate in the event conversation and share comments and photos with the other attendees.

It’s a lovely way to build excitement beforehand, share arrangements and then relive some of the fun afterwards.

However, event photos have particularly strict privacy controls.

Only people on the Coming list and the event hosts can see the event’s chat, photos and videos.

If the host removes someone from the Coming list, that person immediately loses access to the event’s chat and shared media – even after the event has taken place.

And a little reminder for anyone sharing photos: please don’t upload images that identify other people without their express permission.

Just because someone attended a party doesn’t mean they’ve agreed to have their photograph shared with everyone else who was there.

Respecting each other’s privacy is part of being a good member of the community.

Something Not Right? Report It.

We want Spice Me Up Lucy to be a place where people feel comfortable, and that means taking responsibility for what gets shared.

Every photo has a Report option.

If you see an image that you believe is inappropriate, offensive, non-consensual or otherwise shouldn’t be there, please report it.

Here’s what happens:

  • Your report alerts Gage, who will investigate the image.
  • Three reports will automatically hide a photo pending review.
  • If an image needs to be removed, we’ll take action.
  • If an image appears to breach the law, we may remove the member responsible and refer the matter to the appropriate authorities.

We also recognise that reports can sometimes be mistaken or made frivolously. If an investigation finds that an image is perfectly harmless, it can be reinstated.

We take reports seriously, and we expect members to do the same.

A Little Word About Sharing Intimate Photos

Now, this is where I want to offer a little friendly advice.

Many people in the lifestyle have perfectly good reasons for keeping their faces, identifying tattoos and other recognisable features out of their public photos.

Please respect that.

If you get chatting with someone and build a connection, you might eventually decide to share more personal photographs. That’s entirely your choice.

My advice? Save the more identifiable photos for people you’ve got to know and trust. That’s precisely why we created the Friends Only and private photo options.

And remember, receiving someone’s private photo is a privilege, not permission to share it with someone else.

Never redistribute another member’s private photos without their permission.

And Gentlemen, A Quick Word About Those First Messages!

Oh, I simply have to mention this.

For some reason, there are gentlemen out there who seem to think that sending an unsolicited photograph of their manhood is a perfectly acceptable way to introduce themselves.

Really, darling? Is that the best you’ve got?

Let me put it this way: a photograph of your equipment is not a substitute for a conversation.

Start with a hello. Introduce yourself. Show a little personality. Have a conversation and see whether there’s a mutual interest.

If things develop and someone is genuinely interested in seeing a little more, that’s an entirely different matter.

But sending intimate photographs without being invited to do so isn’t impressive, isn’t particularly charming and certainly isn’t a great first impression.

A little manners, a little decorum and a little class go a long way.

Trust me on this one!

Your Photos. Your Choice. Your Privacy.

We want Spice Me Up Lucy to be a place where people feel comfortable sharing a little of themselves, getting to know others and building genuine connections.

You decide what you share, who sees it and when you’re ready to reveal a little more.

Take your time, get to know people, respect their privacy and remember that trust is something we build together.

Head over to Photos & Videos in the navigation menu and start creating your own collection.

And remember, darling, you don’t have to show everyone everything. A little mystery can be rather wonderful!
